TAP's SPRING Semester will begin the week of January 26 and end the week of May 18.
There are no classes March 20 - April 3 for the Studio Spring Break.
Refunds will be given up to 1 month before the start of class. There will be a 20% cancellation fee on all refunds.
Wednesdays, 5:30-6:30pm.
Open to students in grades 3-5 .In our semester-long Elementary Grades Acting Class, children in grades 3-5 will explore elements of performance through acting games and activities that will develop their self-confidence, comfort level speaking in front of others, problem solving skills, ability to work well with others, creativity, and so much more! This is an ideal “intro to acting” for elementary children with little or no experience. This semester will emphasize scene work. The class culminates in a showcase for families at the studio on the final day of class.
Cost is $440/child.
Mondays, 5-6:30pm.
Open to students in grades 3-8. In this performance class, the students will audition, rehearse, and perform the comedic play, "The Mystery of the Missing Medallion," in which a princess in hiding hires a bumbling inspector to find a stolen medallion that proves she is the heir to the throne! From auditions to rehearsals, students will learn and develop skills that are important for acting in plays, and will be encouraged to challenge themselves outside their comfort zones as they explore acting skills through performance. Performances are May 9 at 12pm and 3pm.

Mondays, 4:45 - 5:45pm.
Open to students in grades 3-6. Our semester-long Series Musical Theatre classes are aimed at developing children’s musical theatre skills, specifically singing and dancing. Series 1-A is for young students with some or no musical theatre experience. Over the course of the semester, the children will learn musical theatre music and vocal technique and choreography/dance skills from a professional choreographer and vocal coach. This is a quick-paced class that is ideal for younger children who have a love of musical theatre and a desire to foster that to develop their own skills! No previous experience necessary. Children typically take several semesters of 1-A before being moved up to 1-B by their teachers.
Cost is $480/child.

Open to students in grades 4-7. Our semester-long Series Musical Theatre classes are aimed at developing children’s musical theatre skills, specifically singing and dancing. Series 1-B is our advanced-beginner musical theatre class for young children who have demonstrated a mastery of the skills learned in Series 1-A and are ready to move to a new level. To be in this class, the child must be approved by our staff. Over the course of the semester, the Series 1-B children will invest time and practice learning vocal technique for the stage, and musical theatre choreography and dance skills. This intensive is for children who are passionate about developing their musical theatre skills by challenging themselves as performers. Open to students in grades 1-3. In our semester-long Primary Grades Acting Class, children will explore elements of performance through acting games and activities that will develop their self-confidence, comfort level speaking in front of others, problem solving skills, ability to work well with others, creativity, and so much more! Open to students ages 9-18. Taught by Broadway dancer and professional choreographer, Ms. Kat Murphy, students will have the opportunity to hone their dance skills each month with a lab focused on specific dance techniques. Students may either register for all 4 labs or pick and choose which they’d like to participate in based on topic. Dance labs for this semester will follow the B.E.S.T philosophy. B.E.S.T. stands for Body, Energy, Space and Time. Specific details for each lab are available on the registration website.
Cost is $140 for all 4 labs, or $50 for each lab (students may attend any number of labs).
Fridays, 4:30-5:30pm.
Open to students ages 9-13. Improv Foundations will introduce students to basic improv skills, with particular focus on partner scene work and character development through short form improv games. This is the perfect class for those who love improvisation, who like to make people laugh, and who desire to develop their comedy skills. No prior experience is necessary for Improv Foundations. Students who demonstrate a mastery of the skills learned in Improv Foundations may be asked to join TAP’s Improv Teams in future semesters.

Open to students ages 11-18. The Intermediate Improv Team will focus on story development in improv and comedy, while honing team work, collaborative, and characterization skills. This Improv Team will learn sketch comedy skills in addition to short and long form. In order to be eligible for this TAP Improv team, students will need to attend auditions on November 22 from 10am-12pm. Open to students in grades 7-12. In this high-school level acting intensive, students will work on their acting skills by studying and putting into practice the work of some of theatre’s most influential theorists. Activities will include directing, scene work, monologues, and more. This class culminates in a performance piece, guided by the student’s interests and skill-set. It will be performed on the final day of class for families.

Open to students in grades 5-12 with a teacher's recommendation. Our semester-long Series Musical Theatre classes are aimed at developing children’s musical theatre skills, specifically singing and dancing. Series 2 is our intermediate-advanced musical theatre class for students who already have experience in musical theatre performance. To be in this class, your child must be approved by our staff. Over the course of the semester, the Series 2 students will invest time and practice learning vocal technique for the stage, and musical theatre choreography and dance skills. This intensive is for students who are passionate about developing their musical theatre skills by challenging themselves as performers. Open to students ages 12-18. In this class, students will learn foundational skills for on-camera acting, including how to interpret text for the camera, performance basics, framing, and more. Emphasis will be placed on the differences between on-camera acting and theatrical acting, and students will get to work on-camera in scenes! This is a great class for anyone interested in learning the basics of on-camera acting!

Our TAP Piano and Voice program, led by Ms. Karen Maney and Mr. John Tyson, focuses on the development of musicality and technique through the use of the renowned Suzuki method. Students learn skills that are applicable to all forms of voice from choral to musical theatre and more.

Fridays, 1-3pm, beginning January 30 and ending April 24
Open to students ages 9-16. Over the course of the semester, the actors will audition and rehearse the full-length play, The Just So Stories. The play, based on the stories of Rudyard Kipling, will be performed at the studio for families on April 26. Over the course of the semester, students will work on acting technique throughout the rehearsal process, focusing on character work and ensemble-building. In The Just So Stories, the tales are brought vividly to life by Kipling's young daughter, Elsie, and a group of new friends she has made during a visit with her aunt while her parents are away. Elsie receives in the mail from her father a recently published copy of his new book, a series of animal adventures. She and her friends eagerly act out the stories until they come to the final one which, to the surprise of her friends, Elsie is reluctant to enact. The ending, which holds a surprise or two, is moving and uplifting as Elsie learns something about herself and her friends as well. The lively action, intriguing stories and colorful characters will delight performers and audiences in this play for all ages.

Fridays, 3-4pm, beginning January 30 and ending April 24
Students will learn the fundamentals of technical theatre in this overview to costumes, props, sound, makeup, and set design. Through hands-on activities, students will gain practical technical theatre knowledge to introduce them to the many facets of “tech!”
